The event begins with our Annual General Meeting at 3pm, offering members the opportunity to help shape the Association’s future priorities and ensure their interests are well represented. In the evening, the Welcome Function provides a relaxed setting to reconnect with familiar faces and meet new growers.

Fri, 17th October
Field Day at Henle Gardens, Maldon VIC
The final day of the event takes us to Henle Gardens for a practical, hands-on exploration of lavender agronomy and cultivation. Attendees will tour the impressive new lavender plantings by host member Joshua Ruff and he will be running a demonstration distillation in his traditional copper alembic still. The day also features a vibrant Supplier and Member Maker’s Market, showcasing premium lavender products, and concludes with a thought-provoking panel discussion on the Future of Lavender Production in Australia.

Dr Nigel Urwin
Nigel is a currently retired geneticist and microbiologist who, up until 2020, taught and conducted research at Charles Sturt University (CSU) at the Wagga Wagga and most recently at the Port Macquarie campuses. In the 2000’s he developed the ‘Riverina’ series of lavenders at CSU for Australian lavender growers. The lavenders include Riverina Thomas and Riverina Alan. A major aim of this research was to produce higher oil yielding cultivars

Deby is an active Aromatherapy educator and clinical practitioner with over 40 years’ experience, her passion is utilizing Australian products where available, promoting small providers with quality products for the industry, as well as teaching at colleges both locally and globally. Deby’s presentation will focus on the use of lavender essential oil in her clinical practice.
Gala Dinner Guest Speaker: Robert Ravens from Bridestowe Lavender Estate, TAS
will take the stage at the Gala Dinner on Thursday evening, sharing his 25 years of lavender business knowledge and insights.
